This Christmas. talented pupils aged 4-11 have seen their festive short stories included in a new e-book of children’s writing.
The stories, poems and drawings were entered as part of a short story writing competition, I’m Dreaming Of A Write Christmas, organised by Cartridgesave.co.uk to find the new Charles Dickens or Raymond Briggs this festive season.
Almost 200 entries were received for the competition from across the country, from short stories, to poems, to seasonal drawings – the standard was high!
The entries were judged by popular children’s writer Sam Hay, author of the Undead Pets series of books and winners found in three age categories, 4-6, 7-9 and 10-11. The top 50 entries were compiled into a beautiful, free to download e-book, with a run of books printed exclusively as a keep-sake for those featured in the book, with help from WeAreCreation.
Sam says: “I loved reading the children’s stories – where they get some of their ideas from is beyond me! I’m always taken aback by the creativity that children of all ages show and the theme of Christmas clearly provided lots of inspiration. They really let their imaginations run wild.
“I hope that children and parents enjoy reading all of the stories in the e-book as much as I did. Perhaps it will inspire a few to take up writing and get their own stories published in future.”
The e-book is available to download free from cartridgesave.co.uk/writechristmas
